It’s 2006. Jeff, a young American Jewish soldier, who has been badly wounded in the Iraqi war, wakes up in the middle of the night in a hospital in Milan.

There, standing before him is a young nurse called Maria.

He sees the most beautiful vision, but where is he, and what’s happened to him?

A nurse patient relationship develops, but it becomes more than that.

How can this work out? He is an American Jew, and she, an Italian Roman Catholic?

From Milan and Stresa in Italy, to Laguna Beach in Southern California, in two parts, how will Jeff’s religious parents react to their son’s situation? How will Maria’s Catholic family feel about it too?

But Jeff is returning to America! What will Jeff and Maria do?
