Just Pretend on Goodreads
Holiday Romance
Commitmentphobe Toby just needs someone to bring home with her to Passover to get her parents off her back about finding a boyfriend. Newly-single, and broken-hearted, Mark just needs someone to go out with once a week as part of the dating tips segment on his radio show.
Toby is barely attracted to Mark, and her parents will hate his slovenly appearance and lack of ambition. Mark knows he’ll never love anyone like he loved his ex, no matter how beautiful and fun Toby is.
They can date with no danger of falling in love. It’s the perfect arrangement.
That is, until Mark gets suckered into a man-makeover. All of a sudden, Toby finds him absolutely delectable. Soon, the two have spent enough time together to wonder whether there could be more to their relationship than convenience.
Can a romance that started for all the wrong reasons turn into something right after all?
Just Pretend is a full-length romance with no cliffhanger, a bit of offbeat yoga, a few cringey Passover Seder shenanigans, and, of course, a big, sexy, goofy-smile-filled HEA.This collection of books featuring Jewish main characters is decidedly non-comprehensive. As we come across books that are described as having Jewish main characters, we add them to this database. The creators of the Jewish Genre Reading Challenge have not read all (or even most) of the books in this database. We have gathered information from many sources and not all may be accurate. Inclusion of a book in our database does not imply endorsement or approval. There is always the possibility that antisemitism may be present in a book, either written into a character's experience or through malicious or ignorant caricature or stereotypical portrayal of Jewish characters and culture. Please take care of yourselves as you read.
PLEASE let us know if you encounter a book in this database that does not have a Jewish main character, if you have corrections or additions for a book's genre categories, or if you have any other concerns about the inclusion of a particular book in this database.
