The Road to Ein Harod is a political thriller steeped in the Israeli Arab-Jewish conflict.

Following a military coup, an Israeli opposition member makes his way from a terrorized Tel Aviv to the Ein Harod kibbutz, rumoured to be the centre of resistance. En route, he encounters an Arab man pursuing his own itinerary to a destination 'beyond Ein Harod'. Mortal enemies contesting one another for the same land, circumstances nevertheless compel them to travel together for a time across Israel. Meanwhile, a crazed general equanimously contemplates Armageddon from his bunker . . .

The Road to Ein Harod was a bestseller in Israel in 1984 and winner of the first annual Sartawi Prize.
